பேச்சாற்றலை விட வல்லமை முக்கியம்: அக்காலத்திய கிரேக்கப் பேச்சாளர்கள் தங்கள் நாவன்மையால் மக்களைக் கவர்ந்தனர். ஆனால் பவுல், வெறும் “வார்த்தை விளையாட்டை” நம்பாமல், பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் கிரியையையே முன்னிறுத்தினார்.

Scripture:
“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” (1 Corinthians 2:4,5)
Explanation: These lines written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Corinth beautifully explain what the foundation of our faith should be:
Power is More Important than Eloquence: The Greek orators of that time captivated people with their silver-tongued speech. However, Paul did not rely on mere “wordplay” but instead prioritized the working of the Holy Spirit.
The Evidence of the Holy Spirit: The truth of the Gospel was evidenced not through mere logical arguments, but through the life transformations and miracles experienced by the people. This served as the “demonstration” of the message.
A Stealfast Faith: Faith built on the basis of human wisdom can be shaken when a “better” logic or argument comes along. However, faith built upon the power of God will remain unshakable in any circumstance.
Summary: The Gospel is not just an intellectual debate; it is the God-given power that transforms lives. Faith is not a conclusion reached by human intellect alone; it is the light provided by God.
